Looking for interesting ideas to gift your book-lover friends? Giving them a personalized gift that you made is far more special than purchasing a bookmark. The word ‘kawaii’ means cute in Japanese and this DIY kawaii bookmark can be a great gift!
What you will need:
- 6” square-shaped papers
- Camlin Markers
- Camlin White Glue
Step 1:
Place the square-shaped paper on the table in a diamond position.
Step 2:
Take the bottom corner part of the paper and fold it to the top part of the paper into a triangle.
Step 3:
With the triangle pointing upwards, take the paper from the bottom left corner and fold it to meet the centre point at the top. Make sure to crease properly at this stage. Add glue to make sure the paper doesn’t come off.
Step 4:
Repeat the same step for the right side corner. The paper will look smaller now – in the shape of a diamond.
Step 5 & 6:
Flip the paper over now. Take only the top part of the paper and fold the bottom part of the paper, crease and then unfold the paper.
Step 7:
Fold the same paper in such a way that you tuck it into the pocket that was formed. Gently press the outer corner.
Step 8:
Once the base is ready, draw a cute face on the bookmarks. Make cut-outs of different facial features such as hair, ears, etc and stick them onto your Kawaii bookmarks!
