The silver jubilee celebration of the Camel Art Foundation concludes with a grand exhibition at Mumbai’s Jehangir Art Gallery.
The event was inaugurated by Shri Raj Thackeray. Paintings created at the National Art Camp held at Ajanta Caves were displayed at the exhibition.
Celebrating 25 years of the Camel Art Foundation with a National Art Camp at Ajanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The camp, which was held in association with Sir J. J. School of Art, was attended by 80 artists from over 40 Indian art schools.

A mega art event celebrating Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary is organised by Kokuyo Camlin, in collaboration with Sir J. J. School of Art.
The event invited 150 eminent artists from across Maharashtra to paint with Camel’s newly launched Artist Heavy Body Acrylic Colours, along with other materials like stretched canvases, brushes, etc. The artists painted their versions of Gandhi and his philosophies. Mr. Vinod Sridhar Tawde, the Minister of School Education, Maharashtra saw the ongoing event on social media and paid a surprise visit at the venue. His presence and interaction with the artists amplified the excitement of the event and made it a huge success.

A state-of-the-art factory was inaugurated at Patalganga, near Mumbai by the then CM of Maharashtra, Mr. Devendra Fadnavis and Industry Minister Mr. Subhash Desai, in the presence of company officials from India and Japan.
A mass-plantation drive is held in Jammu with the Ecological Task Force of the Indian Army.
The plantation drive met the record of 1 lakh saplings planted in just 19 minutes. The Ecological Task Force selected the area, dug the pits and provided the saplings & tools. Kokuyo Camlin supported the project by providing caps, food and beverages as well as gifts for the participants. In the following year, the company scaled new heights by planting 12 lakh saplings in 12 hours with the help of 12,000 people.
Celebrating 50 years of Camel with a special exhibition at the famous Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai.
To commemorate how Camel Colours provided quality to the art fraternity in India, paintings and drawings of around 90 artists from all over India and Bhutan were displayed. Among the displayed artists were many legends and stalwarts of Indian art, both modern and traditional, including Late Shri Ghanshyam Sharma, the legendary miniaturist from Udaipur and Mr. Krishan Khanna. The show was opened by the chief of Shiv Sena, Mr. Uddhav Thackeray.

PuffOns are a fun fabric colour line of products created with unique technology which makes the colours puff on ironing.
A state-of-the-art factory opens in Nashik.
The manufacturing of pharmaceutical formulations begins in the newly inaugurated factory.
Camlin begins the manufacturing of 0.5 mm high polymer leads.
Camlin enters into a technical collaboration with Pilot Corporation, Japan to commence the manufacturing of the new line of leads.
A notable recognition from the Government of India
Chemicals & Allied Products Export Promotion Council, set up by the Government of India, recognises Camlin.
A fully integrated factory is set up at Tarapur, 100 km from Mumbai.
In the same year, Camlin added wooden pencils to its product line.

Camlin moves into a brand new office and factory at Mahim, Mumbai.
Born from the Swadeshi movement, Camel brings ‘made in India’ products into the market.
Late Shri Digambar Dandekar began manufacturing ink powder in his humble Girgaum Chawl residence. Soon, the powder turned into tablets and then liquid ready-to-use ink which was sold in recycled glass bottles. Thus began the legacy of Camel, India’s favourite art material and stationery brand.
